Easton Fire Department to Host Emergency Response Team Training Sessions

New Volunteers Sought to Join Easton CERT

EASTON — Chief Kevin Partridge is pleased to announce that the Easton Fire Department will be hosting the Easton Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training classes next month and that new volunteers are being sought to join the team.

WHEN

Informational session, Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m.

Training classes on Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m. beginning Sept. 12.

WHERE

Easton Fire Department, Station 3, 413 Bay Road

WHAT

The Easton CERT volunteer group is seeking a limited number of new volunteers to assist the existing team.

Classes will be held for nine weeks and students will be trained on topics including, emergency and disaster preparedness, fire safety, first aid, sheltering operations, light search and rescue and other topics.

CERT volunteers staff and operate Easton’s emergency shelters when necessary and participate in many community events.
