EASTON — Fire Chief Justin Alexander and Police Chief Keith Boone report that the Easton Fire and Police Departments are standing by to assist any residents who may become displaced due to long-duration power outages in town.
As of 7:30 p.m., National Grid reports approximately 100 power outages in Easton, but restoration is not expected until Saturday evening. This especially affects residents in the Highland Street neighborhood, including Rollins Road, Royal Road and Sun Terrace and homes between Bay Road and Foundry Street.
Any residents who are in need of shelter from the storm and power outages is asked to call the Easton Police Department at 508-230-3322 and press 0 to speak with an officer. Easton will provide shelter and the town’s trained first responders will assist residents who may need help getting to a shelter from their homes.
Residents are urged to only travel on the roadways if it is absolutely necessary. Conditions are treacherous and unpredictable, and as temperatures drop Friday night, sudden freezing is expected.
