EASTON — Chief Justin Alexander and the Easton Fire Department are pleased to announce that Jon Carroll, who has served as the interim deputy chief since October 2020, has officially been sworn in as the department’s deputy chief.
Deputy Chief Carroll was sworn in to his new role at Easton Fire Station 3 on Tuesday evening, May 4. He begins his duties immediately.
“Chief Partridge worked tirelessly to establish the deputy chief position and appointed Deputy Chief Carroll as one of his final accomplishments as chief before retirement,” Chief Alexander said, who was also sworn in Tuesday as the new chief of the department. “Jon’s experience and dedication to the Easton Fire Department for the past decade is tremendously valuable to this department and community. I am very happy to have him as deputy chief and I will certainly be relying on his institutional knowledge as I get acclimated to my new role.”
Deputy Chief Carroll began his career with the Easton Fire Department in 2010 as a firefighter/paramedic. He was promoted to lieutenant in November 2017 before being appointed interim deputy chief.
He has served as the department’s Student Awareness of Fire Education (S.A.F.E.) coordinator as well as a board member of the department’s annual open house event. He is a co-founder of the department’s Stop, Drop, and Run 5K Road Race.
As deputy chief, Carroll oversees the operations of the department and ensures a safe and healthy work environment for members. Additionally, he supervises the Fire Prevention and Training divisions, assists Chief Alexander in implementing decisions regarding department policies, procedures, operations and plans, and serves as the assistant emergency management director.
Deputy Chief Carroll is an Easton native and graduate of the Oliver Ames High School Class of 2007. He is married to his wife Kylie and has four children, Jonathan, age 8, Devin, age 7, Emerson, age 5 and Dylan, age 3. He also volunteers with Easton Youth Baseball and Cub Scout Pack 76.
